This embroidered picture sits on top of my bookshelf in the living room. I saw it at an indoor flea market in Lansing, MI and I couldn’t walk away without it! The fact that it cost less than $10 sealed the deal. It was destined to come live with me. I like to imagine that it’s somewhere in Key West – a very nice daydream considering spring is taking its sweet time coming to Michigan.

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by At Home With Books. Stop by and check out more wonderful pictures posted by some great bloggers.

  1. That’s so pretty! What a nice addition to your bookshelves!

    Here’s my SATURDAY SNAPSHOT post.

  2. I just die when I see embroidery at such a low price. It’s really hours of work. I’m afraid more have come home with me, just because I need to rescue them.

    • There was a whole wall of these embroidered pieces. I was so shocked when I saw the price. There’s now way I could make it myself for that cost. I did have to come home with me – it was its destiny!

  3. I love embroidery in a frame, and have found some really special ones over the years in flea markets, etc. Enjoy!

    • This is one of the best little treasures I’ve found recently. Even my kids love flea markets!

  4. what a great find, it’s perfect for a reading space decoration :) Book Savvy Babe

    • I think it’s very cute. Would love to have a setup like this, but it’d have to be in a sunroom instead of outdoors here in Michigan.

  5. How sweet. I cross-stitich, so I appreciate the time, effort and love poured into the one small work :-)

    • I used to cross stitch, so I couldn’t believe it when I checked the price on this. It is one of the smaller pieces offered at the flea market booth, but I consider it a little jewel of needlework.

  6. It looks a comfy relaxing spot doesn’t it? Great bargain too.

  7. Seems like a good bargain to me.

  8. Sooo pretty, love it!
I am now heading over to check out Saturday Snapshot :) Might join in one Saturday myself.

    • It is fun to travel around (the internet) and see so many great photos. Got a glimpse of spring this week, even though it hasn’t arrived at my house!

  9. It is beautiful – it’s crewel work. My mother used to do a lot of it a few years back. No Snapshot from me this week, because I only got back from Mum’s yesterday, but I like to see what everyone is doing!

    • I knew there was a specific name for that type of embroidery! I’ve never tried it myself, but it is very lovely. Thanks for stopping by!
